Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence’s mission is “to end domestic violence in the moment and for all time—by creating paths for survivors to achieve safety, stability, and self-sufficiency.” To celebrate their 50-year anniversary, Next Door Solutions (NDS) approached A. Virga Design to create a strategy that would weave information about their grass roots history, comprehensive suite of support programs, timeline of major events and fiscal year data into a cohesive narrative.

In light of this piece celebrating NDS’ anniversary, we chose to frame the narrative using a “then and now, problem/solution” scenario. The success of this piece hinged on its front cover design: a visually arresting 1960s-era photo with a provocative statement.

The annual report leads readers chronologically through the compelling story of how NDS came into existence, through its evolution of programs and services and its current fiscal year data, concluding with a photo on the back cover of a cheerful mother and child, symbolizing the hope that can be found at Next Door Solutions.
